  ARTS & CRAFTS

Cape Dorset is World Renowned for its many forms of art. It has been called the most artistic place in Canada, with 22% of its workforce employed in the arts. Founded in 1959, the West Baffin Eskimo Co-operative is the best venue to view these beautiful works and meet with the famed artists themselves. Kinngait Studios, which house the co-op's graphic arts program, produce a highly acclaimed print collection each year. Cape Dorset is fondly known locally as the true 'Capital of Inuit Art.'

In addition to the works on display at Kinngait Studios, many local carvers can be seen by their homes, working on their art on a daily basis. It’s a great opportunity to pick up some unique pieces that you may not find anywhere else in the world.
